The F-16
Fighting Falcon is a compact, multi-role fighter aircraft. It is highly
maneuverable and has proven itself in air-to-air combat and air-to-surface
attack. It provides a relatively low-cost, high-performance weapon system
for the United States and allied nations. About 4000 F-16s are manufactured
from 1978. Steep swept back wing at front of body is called Strake. Strake
reduces drag during supersonic flight and increases stability at large
angle of attack.
UP (Rev 1.1) Center of Gravity point is moved backward slightly for
better gliding performance.
UP (Rev 2.0) Apply the structure of F-2, it is more easy to make. Center of Gravity point is moved backward slightly for
better gliding performance.
How to manufacture F-16
Download the drawing and print it on thick paper. (Refer toMaterial
and Instrument.) Set up your printer for thick paper.
Cut the paper according to the thick line. Start with body of plane.
Fold up as dash and dot line " _
. _ . _" , and fold down as dash line " - - - - " . At first make cockpit
1. After folding the forepart
of body2, paste cockpit1 inside the body2 and re-fold. After folding
the body3, open and paste the
forepart of body2 inside the body and re-fold. Cut out the catapulting
hook. Paste nose cover 7
8 at nose of body. Bend down horizontal tail wings at thin line as
10 degrees from horizontal
level like figure. (Horizontal tail have anhedral angle of 10 degree.)
Dihedral angle of main wings
is 0 degrees. Paste main wings 4 over the body. Put and paste vertical
tail fin 5 in basal parts of
vertical fin 6 and attach on wings 4. Bend up rear edge of horizontal
tail wings slightly. No
balance weight is needed. (lead-free policy)
Adjustment
Bend down main wings slightly as a bow shape to make camber. Form washout
(decrease angle of incidence at wing tip) at the tip of main wings slightly.
Spray paint thinly if fly outdoor.
